SENIOR STYLIST
SERENA SILVERMAN

Serena Silverman has been a professional dog groomer since she was 18 and has nearly two decades of experience. Her grooming journey began at 14 as a bathing assistant and evolved when she learned from a master groomer neighbor at 16. Initially aspiring to be a wildlife veterinarian, Serena shifted to grooming after realizing she couldn't handle the emotional toll of supporting families through the loss of their pets.

Serena's skills were honed in Montreal under a master groomer, supplemented by courses at the Institute of Animal Behaviour College and Petsmart's grooming school. She has a special fondness for terriers, particularly Yorkshires and Schnauzers, appreciating their spirited personalities. Serena's meticulous and caring approach includes thorough health checks and a standard set of questions for every client. She stays updated on grooming trends through social media and Canadian grooming shows.

The most rewarding part of Serena's job is forming meaningful bonds with her furry clients, like a dog who eagerly pulls his owner through the door for tummy scratches from Serena. Her favorite tool is her anti-static spray, essential for managing frizz and achieving a flawless finish. For nervous dogs, she suggests "chat" dates to build trust. Outside of grooming, Serena enjoys video games, drawing, and writing comic-style stories. Book an appointment with Serena at The Pawsh Dog for a professional and heartfelt grooming experience.
